October 2025
Let’s start this month with songwriter Robb Johnson and his Blackwater,

He met up with Boff from Chumbawamba at the Hartlepool Folk Festival. He seems impressed with Robb’s new guitar!

We’ve just completed this Taw for Mike from Lytham St Annes,

Mike asked for a deep cutaway and abalone diamond and dot fingerboard markers,

Jack inlaid this rose on the headstock from a design by Mike’s daughter Maddy.

This cedar and rosewood Torridge is for Kev from Andover who’ll be coming down to collect it shortly.

More photos here of the Pendragon gig with Nick and his Taw.

Jack’s working on an owl inlay on a Lyn headstock for Andrea.

Terence Blacker bought this Newlyn from Coda, he wrote “This sweet, mellow, generous-spirited guitar has a wonderful tone which, I’m happy to say, also works amplified. It’s a delight to play and I’m a very happy picker”.

Check out Terence’s songs here, In particular search out Sad Old Bastards With Guitars!

We gave Dave’s Taw a thorough set up and a few weeks later he wrote “The incredible thing is that I normally use a Stratocaster when I play with the band, but the Taw is so lovely to play I did the entire gig on that instead”.

Andy fitted a K&K pickup on John Ramsay’s twelve string Tamar.

We had an early guitar of Andy Manson’s in for repair work and a set-up, still sounding great after all these years and coming up for its 50th birthday next year!

Those who follow the news will know that we occasionally post photos of our commute to the workshop, here are a couple taken early one fine Autumn morning.

More next month……
